Oklahoma City Memorial Essay Scholarship Contest- Have you ever thought that because of your age, you are too young to make positive changes in your community? Regardless of your age, as a citizen of the United States and as a human being, you have a responsibility to be an example for others and to play a part in making this a more peaceful world. On April 19, 1995, one hundred and sixty-eight innocent men, women and children were killed in the bombing of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Those who committed this violent act chose one of the most horrific ways to express their anger and frustration. Their plan to effect change failed. The 18th Annual Student Essay Contest encourages students like you to think about the importance of speaking up and being a unifying voice in your community to create positive change.
